"I want to be a photographer one day," I wrote in my journal when I was twelve years old.

Growing up with four creative and artistic sisters was wonderful. But I couldn't paint, sing, or play an instrument. I found my creative outlet through photography. From the instant I picked up my dad's 35 mm film camera a whole new world opened up. I took photos of everything. When I went to college they did not have a photography program so I veered off my first love and pursued a degree and a career in the sports business industry.

But photography remained my passion and in 2008 I picked my camera back up and began shooting more than just snapshots. In 2010 I plunged in with both feet and started taking photos for other people and that is how Susan Crutchfield Photography was born!

I love spending time with my husband, our dog and two cats. I also really enjoy reading, eating delicious food, and traveling. I am obsessed with finding quiet moments of beauty in which I can just stop and fully enjoy life. I love nothing better than grabbing my camera and heading off to explore hidden spots around the state or visit places steeped in history. I love giving back to my community through my volunteer work at the Newnan Theatre Company, as a board member of the Newnan ArtRez Artist-in-Residence program and photographing for the Coweta Life blog. Charities and non profits I support include Abby's Angels Foundation, Backstreet Community Arts, Songs for Kids Foundation, and The Atlanta Community Food Bank.

My family is the most important part of my life, so one of my goals in photography is capturing the special love of family, whether it be through a wedding, new life of a child or just the everyday intimacy embodied by a family portrait shoot. I am passionate about capturing that amazing family photo and to me that doesn't always mean a perfectly posed photo with everyone looking at the camera and smiling. I want to photograph your family up close and personal and show the family togetherness and everybody's individual personalities. That is why you will see me running around at a shoot, getting down on the ground to get the perfect view of the first kiss and following the kids to photograph that childhood joy.

I offer a variety of photography services, including family and children portraits and wedding packages. A family or children photo session usually lasts an hour and a newborn session lasts 2-3 hours. All my sessions are shot on location at local parks, other outdoor locations, or in your home. I am based in the Greater Atlanta, GA metro area. I am accepting a limited amount of photo sessions for 2022 & 2023. If you are interested in scheduling a photo session, if you have any questions, or would like a quote please contact me at susan@susancrutchfieldphotography.com.

Thank you for checking out my photography and I look forward to creating memories for you!
